THOMPSON, BARBARA JEAN Age 76, of Riverside, CA., passed away on 01/08/2007 at Riverside Community Hospital. Barbara was born April 21, 1930 in Hastings, Nebraska. Barbara retired as an Executive Secretary for Sears for 25 years and was an active member of Eden Lutheran Church. She loved to sew, crochet, knit, bake and spend time with her grandkids. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Santilla, Riverside, CA; son Monte Thompson, Bakersfield, CA, Sister, Patty Lane, Oregon; 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society. Visitation Wednesday, 01/10/07 from 5-8pm at Acheson & Graham Mortuary. Commital Service Thursday, 01/11/07, 9:15AM at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #2. Acheson & Graham Mortuary.

TILNEY, COLLEEN MARIE HISE MUNSON
Colleen was born in Marshalltown, Iowa and attended Jefferson Township High School in Upland, Indiana. After her graduation, the family moved to Corvallis, Oregon where her uncle Frank Hise lived. She received a scholarship to Oregon State University, and graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Following college graduation, she moved to Riverside, CA and began working for the YWCA when it was located on 7th Street. She married Charles Munson in 1950 at Eden Lutheran Church. Two children were born of the marriage. Her parents and one brother besides Charles preceded her in death.
She married Albert A. "Bert" Tilney on March 3, 1990 at Eden Lutheran Church. Bert passed away in March 2006.
She is survived by one brother, Galen Hise (Kendra) of Salem, OR, children Christie Munson Darke-Mallow (Ray) of Sultan, WA and Bradley Munson (Mary Jane) of Pasadena, CA, Susan Yagelski (Jerry) of Valparaiso, IN, Anne Armes (Steve) of Lake Station, IN, Betsy Scutt (Marvin) of Jackson, TN, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.
Colleen was very active in Riverside's organizations and her church. She was wedding hostess for Eden Lutheran for 25 years, affiliated with the Altar Guild and worked in the church office weekly. She worked at Poly High School and later at UCR as Student Activities Director for many years. She was a member of P.E.O., chapter DO; of Friends of the Library; of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and was an over 50-year-member of Riverside Alumnae Panhellenic Association where she has held many offices, including that of President, and Parliamentarian. She was known for being an avid reader, her cross-stitch cards sent to friends for any occasion, cookie baking and her love of teddy bears. She will be greatly missed by the family and her many friends.
A memorial service will be held at Eden Lutheran Church on Friday January 12, 2007 at 11AM. Private interment will be held at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scholarship fund of the Riverside Alumnae Panhellenic Association (PO Box 2212, Riverside, 92516), to Friends of the Library (PO Box 468, Riverside, 92502) or to Eden Lutheran Church, 4725 Brockton Avenue, Riverside, 92506.
